Fiber Cement “sounds” great, but in reality it is brittle and will not hold up over time, not to mention you still have to keep repainting it...if there is a warranty left it is for material cost only NOT labor as well like Craneboard Siding.

Moisture Control is very essential in all Siding Projects. You have water Vapor as well as water penetration.
Most under layments used for siding (green board) are considered Vapor retardants due to lack of proper perm ratings.
Our system has a perm rating of 5 which far exceeds the minimum rating of 2. (kind of like under armour or gortex) it allows vapor to escape your home and avoid what you see to the right.
We have the only water channeling system built into our insulation as well to help move water to the weep system and escape from behind your siding. 25% more water gets behind hollow back siding vs. composite cladding.
While other manufacturer’s have an insulated panel now, Crane was the innovator and the first! We have the ONLY extruded insulation which allows us to mold the Moisture channels into the product to enhance the performance.
Know as an “Energy Bridge” the wall studs in your home transfer energy very quickly. Your insulation is put between the studs so every 16 inches you have virtually no protection against heat and cold transfer.
If you put all the studs in your house side by side you would have about 25% of your house or one wall with virtually no insulation value!
Crane Board Insulated siding with up to 4.0 R value will cover these gaps and wrap your home with a “Blanket” of protection, adding significantly to the insulation value of your home.
If you look closely at the picture, you will see the vertical stud lines where moisture evaporates the fastest.
